Monthly visits and a steady stream of letters to people serving sentences in the prison nearby.
Letters written on a Sunday afternoon
What it is. A small team visits the prison near Millbrook once a month and writes to people inside in between. Some of the men we write to have no other post at all.
How it works
Visits are arranged through the prison chaplaincy, usually on the first Saturday of the month. Letters go out every week, and every letter is answered.
When someone is released, we help where we can: a first meal, a lift to an appointment, a church to come to if they want one.
Asking for help
If someone in your family is in prison and you would like them to receive a visit or a letter, get in touch. Everything is handled quietly.
Helping out
Letter writers are always needed, and it can be done from your kitchen table. Visitors go through the prison’s own checks first.
