Started reading in a prison library.
I started reading the Bible in a prison library, because it was the thickest book there and I had eighteen months to fill.
A man from Northgate Chapel had been writing to me, and when I wrote back with questions he answered every one. When I got out, he was waiting at the gate with a coffee.
I have a job now and a flat of my own. I still read every morning, and on the first Saturday of the month I go back inside with the visiting team.
What I would say to someone thinking about coming
It does not matter where you have been. The door is open.
